One of the few fun parts of being short and standing super close to artists in the photo pit is, you get unique midget angles. Anyone who knows me and sees my work, I love darkness, abstract, natural lights and their effects behind it mixed with the standard images expected to cover. I come from a film background, and always love to tell a story, mood, emotion through one photo. I hate following the rules and being pressured by what is normal. I go with emotion. It was almost 3am and running on 40-50 hours of no sleep. What day or year is it?
What moment of reality is here?
Will this be the last to capture?
This was during Vreid's set on the pool deck, January 31st (really Feb 1st close to 3am). The moon added so much to the atmosphere of their set. I had to stand from the side to try something different. Play with the lights and the moon in the background. I didn't care if it would be a fail or successful experiment. It had to be done. Don't be afraid of going outside the box of creative expression. Do it for you without the approval, praise, hunger from the outside world. Just go out there and create. Keep creating. Find new methods. Learn and grow regardless how much you've already learned or years doing it. Just go out there and have fun with it all.
